Health is a state of being unified, coordinated, capable of concentration and one-pointedness of mind to achieve a single goal of union with the Cosmos. » Our ultimate goal is self-realization, and the recognition and experience that we are spiritual beings first, living a human life. To achieve this ultimate goal, we benefit from one-pointed concentration and a spiritual practice. Yogi Bhajan
What is addiction?
- A strong physical, emotional and/or psychological dependence on a substance or behavior (such as alcohol, drugs, sugar, coffee, gambling, sexual obsession, shopping, overwork, exercise, Internet, video games, television, etc.) that has progressed beyond voluntary control.
- An addict feels an uncontrollable, compulsive craving and/or psychological dependence on or for the addictive substance or behaviour, regardless of the outcome or potential to cause personal harm, or to disrupt close relationships.
- Addiction is a chronic and progressive condition, with genetic, neurobiological, hormonal, nutritional, psychosocial, environmental and spiritual factors contributing to its development and manifestation.
Over time the addict takes increasing doses of additive substances or spends more time involved in the addictive activity to maintain the same effect.
During this training you will learn about the causes of additions, their impact on the brain, the yogic approach to addictions and how to harmonize the body, the mind and the spirit through yoga, meditation, nutrition, and stress-releasing exercises.
